Let us decorate our caps

I was told that we weren't allowed to decorate our caps because they want everyone to be in uniform. We are not a uniform school, so being uniform during graduation shouldn't matter. One of our local schools, Grand River Preparatory is in fact a uniform school but allows their seniors to decorate their caps. Decorating caps is not only fun, but a way for us to express ourselves and stand out. We're always told to express ourselves and be different but that opportunity isn't given to us when we can't decorate our graduation caps. Getting the chance to decorate our caps would give us another way to showcase our achievements, broadcast our careers and our next steps after graduation. It'll give people a chance to illustrate their excitement for completing all 12 years of school. Our freedom of creativity and expression should not be restricted for the sake of looking identical to the other graduates in our class.
