Healing horses is a therapeutic horse riding training organisation catering to children with special needs up to 12 years old. This organisation is a non-government and not-for-profit operating to provide an essential service to support families with special needs children.
At present, I am urgently seeking for land (size of a soccer field-2 to 3 acres) to start up and operate a therapeutic horse riding school for children with special needs in Singapore. The therapy will have a high focus on children within the toddlers' age range. The objective of the riding school is to engage toddlers with special needs such as Development delays,Down Syndrome, Learning Disabilities,Autism, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), Cerebral Palsy, and speech delays with an early intervention programme which involves therapy through close interaction with horses and riding.
The training duration ranges from 10 sessions to ongoing. The sessions can be planned to suit the varying needs of the parents and the child, including financial considerations. Healing horses also aims to provide this service at an affordable rate and some free lessons to families in need of financial assistance. We will also be offering be flexible payment options to ensure that this service is accessible to as many families as possible.
This interaction builds self-esteem and helps the children overcome the difficulties associated with their disabilities. In addition, horse riding also helps to improve essential muscle tone, coordination, posture and self-confidence. Therapeutic riding has gained substantial recognition over the years in countries like Australia and USA, and comes highly recommended by practicing medical professionals as a great option for helping children with special needs.
I really hope to get a land soon and provide early intervention programmes for all the lovely children.
