The Labour Party in Northampton South is shocked at the pernicious rise in Council Tax, at 4%, which is above the national average.
It is particularly difficult to accept at a time when the Lib Dems voted massive hikes in their councillor allowances, a move which has proved deeply unpopular with the residents of Northampton.
We are particularly critical of Councillor Tony Woods' massive personal increase which, in our opinion, cannot possibly be justified.
We, the undersigned, call upon Councillor Tony Woods and the Lib Dems at the Guildhall, to review the recommended increase or to provide additional support for hard-working families, pensioners and other people in our community who need extra help.
