Kombucha is a fermented tea which when combined with sugar makes a carbonated beverage filled with enzymes and probiotics, considered to promote good health. It is not an alcoholic beverage.
The PEI Liquor Control Commission has told small kombucha businesses on PEI they can't sell their product because it is deemed as an alcoholic beverage, but yet the large grocery chains still have kombucha on the shelves.
Please help small businesses on PEI by signing this petition. Let's work together with PEILCC and the PEI Government to change the laws so that small businesses can continue to sell Kombucha.
