BMP has cruelly killed over 25 lakh stray dogs from 1939 to 1999. Please do visit

These gruesome killings might be resumed if we don't act now.
We, the undersigned, condemn the cruel killing of stray dogs in Bangalore by the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike from 1939 to 1999. The BMP has killed over 25 lakh stray dogs and we do not want this to happen ever. These inhumane killings have not helped us an inch towards maintaining stray dog population and rabies-eradication.
The following humane methods have been adopted by many other countries and have been proven successful:
(1) Animal Birth Control (Spay and Neuter),
(2) Anti-Rabies Vaccine,
(3) (i) Euthanasia (for rabid dogs) or
(ii) Keeping rabid dogs isolated till they die a natural death
and finally
(4) Effective garbage disposal.
For example, Kuwait is 100% rabies free since 1996 after adopting these methods.
We strongly urge you to adopt these humane solutions currently implemented by organizations like
Animal Rights Fund,
Compassion Unlimited Plus Action,
Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals,
Do It Yourself Activists.
