Tillamook officials have decided to change us from the Land of Many Waters to Dairyland. While I understand that yes the cheese factory brings in the tourism around here, that does not have to be the extent of our appeal to the public.
Changing us to Dairyland defeats the revitalization of Tillamook, limiting the kind of shops that will be able to thrive here.

Additionally, it would be unfortunate to see this representation of the lands history be changed.

We are not all in the dairy business as the Tillamook Headlight Herald article would have us believe. Tillamook is diverse, we are fisherman, we are craftsman, we are authors, and we are full of potential beyond that of the dairy industry. Let us not label the whole community as such.
I want to keep Tillamook as the Land of Many Waters, and not changed to Dairyland.
