#City & Town Planning
Target:
Mayor and City Council Members, Milton, Georgia
Region:
United States of America

The City of Milton is now in the process of undertaking a "Visoning Study" which may also include revisions to longstanding residential Zoning on the Highway 9 corridor.

Such changes in Zoning will have a major impact on quality of life in North Milton and a significant increase in traffic congestion.

Keep Milton Green
SUBJECT: IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED

PLEASE READ THE INFROMATION BELOW REGARDING PROPOSALS FOR MILTON ZONING CHANGES TO ALLOW COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD.

We need you involvement to stop further destruction of the residential character of our neighborhoods.

1. Please join with your neighbors by signing this petition to let the Milton city officials know that you do not want your neighborhood values diminished by commercial development.

2. Attend the meeting on March 27 (6 PM) at Crooked Creek to voice your opinion.

The City of Milton is redesigning its Development Plan for the stretch of Highway 9 from Bethany Bend north to the Forsyth line. Proposals from developers would change big portions of this area that are currently zoned single family residential to commercial and mixed uses.

These changes would put commercial development in the back and side yards of your neighbors in Crooked Creek, Lake Laurel and Five Acre Estates. These properties include lots along Highway 9 in the Five Acre neighborhood and others across from Crooked Creek.

These lots are part of the Five Acre Estates Subdivision and have been single family residential for decades. The homeowners in that neighborhood and the surrounding homeowners in Crooked Creek and Lake Laurel believed that residential character would be protected by the County and City Zoning when they moved into those neighborhoods.

Recent and ongoing home construction across from Crooked Creek show that the residential character of the area is viable and the preferred development.

As all of you know, the traffic out of these neighborhoods makes it difficult and unsafe to pull out of our neighborhoods. This will increase dramatically with commercial development in our neighborhoods.

Please show your support and desire to preserve your neighborhoods by clicking on the link below and signing this petition and letting the City of Milton know your feelings.
