In less than a month they are planning to open a new methadone clinic on Defense Highway in Parole, MD, directly outside of Annapolis.
There are currently 5 clinics operating in Glen Burnie, a 6th anticipated in Pasadena (currently delayed due to protests causing the owner to change the clinic location), making the Annapolis location the 7th!
Yes, heroin and other opiates are an epidemic in Maryland, but you don't see Howard, Washington, Montgomery, Wicomico, Talbot, etc rushing to fill their counties with clinics!
As residents of Annapolis, Anne Arundel County and Maryland as a whole, stand up for what our communities truly need! No more Methadone Clinics! No more crutches!
We, the undersigned, protest the operation of any offices dispensing liquid methadone (with the intent to maintain an individual for purposes of abstaining from heroin and other opiates) within a 20 mile radius of the center of the city of Annapolis.
