On Monday 9th October the Unicorn Pub in Eastern Green, Coventry is due to be closed for 16 days for a refurbishment.
The owners Greene King Brewery are planning to shut down the Horse Play area, remove the outside play area including the slides and remove all childrens toy machines and TV screens by the tables.
I believe this is a massive error of judgement by the management as the Unicorn is well known for being a popular family pub.
I myself and many friends use the facilities regularly and we spend a lot of money on meals and drinks as do many local families and people beyond.
There is nowhere else like this on this side of the City.
I'm calling on the management to reconsider their decision as making the pub child tolerant instead of child friendly will definitely fail as many many people will no longer use the pub.
