The Division of Correction under direction of Secretary Gary D. Maynard is considering a 12-hour shift option for correctional officers.
As Correctional Officers at Eastern Correctional Institution we feel that these shifts would have an adverse impact on home life, productivity, quality and safety.
We, the undersigned staff at Eastern Correctional Institution, call on the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services to keep the work shift at 8 hours for Correctional Officers.
