The Conscientious Exemption Bill allows parents to decline one, some, or all immunizations required by Kansas for reasons of conscience or other personal beliefs. A Conscientious Exemption to the Kansas Required Immunizations is needed to protect Kansans' freedom of conscience and informed consent.

19 states already allow conscientious exemptions with no risk to their state's public health. These states continue to maintain a high vaccination participation rate despite the exemptions allowed. The reported exemptions have had no direct impact on the reported incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases.

Immunizations are the only state-mandated medical procedure.

Immunizations are not 100% Effective, not 100% Necessary, and not 100% Safe. They are not without risk.

Some vaccines are produced from cell lines obtained from voluntary aborted fetal tissue.

$2,101,011,004.74 has been paid out for vaccine injuries by the US National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program since 1989.

252, 130 vaccine adverse reactions, including death, were reported between January 1990 and August 2008. Less than 10% of vaccine injuries are reported.

I support the right to make informed voluntary vaccine choices.
