Petition concerning the brutal killing by SAPS of an elderly resident (Rita Pillay) and the lack of service delivery from the Lenasia South Police Services (SAPS)

 Increased Crime – No Decrease!
 Increased Drug usage – No Decrease!
 Too much cohesion and “buddy, buddy” with people conducting criminal
activities
 Takes too long to answer calls in the charge office
 Take too long or never responds to a scene
 Very un-organized and unprofessional, in handling cases that are reported
 Always excuses of no man power, but SAPS vehicles transporting “friends”
and hanging around the take-a-way’s
 Reckless driving of the state vehicles

We, the community of Lenasia South, demand the following to be actioned and/or answered by the Minister of Police and the Lenasia South Station Commander. A memorandum will be handed over to the Minister of Police as well as the Station Commander on the 8 December 2016. A peaceful protest/march will be conducted from Azalea Street to the Lenasia South Police Station. The following will be included in the memorandum:

1. Demand for the removal of the entire SAP staff/personnel at the Lenasia South Police Station, and the replacement of new staff members with an organizational structure shared with the community at large.
2. Demand for immediate answers for the shooting incident that took place on Azalea Street in Lenasia South, which resulted in the death of an elderly community member.
3. Demand as to why was there no investigation conducted and no arrests made of the SAP members that fired the fatal shots.
4. Demand for Accountability, Transparency, and Honesty surrounding the details that led to this fatal killing of a citizen.
5. Demand for the inactive/non-existent CPF members to be removed and re-elected with governing structures to the benefit of the greater community.
6. Demand as to the reason for the increase of drug operations being carried out by known drug lords in Lenasia South and is being overlooked by SAPS members.
7. Demand for Accountability, Transparency, and Honesty surrounding the Motor Vehicle Accident whereby a SAPS member was driving under the influence of alcohol and overturned the vehicle, which resulted in a SAPS member losing her life.
8. Demand for statistics over the last 12 months on drug related crime, general crime, house burglaries, hi-jacking, murder, rape, domestic. Statistics must comprise of cases logged, cases closed, and cases resolved.
9. Demand for the removal of street drug addicts including Glue Boys that loiter the streets and conduct petty crime in Lenasia South.

1. Why is nothing being done about the known drug lords to SAPS members in Lenasia South?
2. Why does SAPS members stand down from known high profile criminals, but opens fire and kills an elderly citizen?
3. Why when criminals are arrested with evidence of criminal activity, are seen loitering the streets after a day or two?
4. Why is there poor/non visibility of SAPS vehicles patrolling Lenasia South?
5. Why is there delayed/poor/no attendance by SAPS members for complaints/incidents logged at the station?
6. Why are there wrongful arrests and false imprisonment of Lenasia South Community Citizens?
7. Why is there a breach of Lenasia South Community Citizen Rights?
8. Why does SAPS members not work with the community to eradicate crime in Lenasia South?
9. Why are SAPS members in uniform, while on shift, running personal errands?
