We think that President Donald J. Trump ("DJT") should withdraw the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, to the U.S. Supreme Court, because the nomination has become too divisive, and because it is beneath the dignity of the United States Senate to have to choose whether to believe Judge Kavanaugh, or his 3 female accusers, including Christine Blasey Ford, who testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee that she was 100% certain that it was the nominee who tried to rape her (when she was 15 and he was 17).
Even DJT said that Ms. Ford was "very credible" and "compelling." Accordingly, we think that DJT should follow the precedent set by President Reagan, who, in 1987, withdrew his nomination of Judge Douglas Ginsburg to the U.S. Supreme Court, after it was revealed that the nominee had smoked pot when he was a professor at Harvard Law School.
Dear President Trump:
We respectfully request that you withdraw the fatally flawed nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court, because you, yourself, have called the testimony of one of the nominee's accusers, Christine Blasey Ford, "very credible" and "compelling."
We respectfully request that you follow the precedent set by President Ronald Reagan, in 1987, when he withdrew his nomination of Judge Douglas Ginsburg to the Supreme Court.
