As it is known there is a large percentage of foot traffic along Devils Tower Road, With increasing traffic accidents along the area due to speeding vehicles, we have been lucky that no passer by has been injured or even worse killed as a consequence of one of these accidents. There is no protection or railings along the pavement on Devils Tower Road which could leave a pedestrian vulnerable to being the victim of one of these accidents, which could be fatal with the loss of life.
There have been many places around Gibraltar where railings have been installed along the pavements which ultimately can minimize the risk of any further injury to pedestrians and we believe that pedestrians along Devils Tower Road should be afforded the same protection.
We, the undersigned call on the Minister For Transport to install Railings / Concrete Blocks or any other measure to allow the safe foot traffic for pedestrians along Devils Tower Road.
