On February 12th, 2010 Ashley Henderson was killed after being hit crossing the road on Western and 132.
This along with many car accidents and people getting hurt would not happen if we could get a light up cross walk, and sidewalks on the Northern side of 132.
We, the people of Waterford and surrounding communities are calling upon the county to install Flashing Crosswalks in the intersection of Western and Highway 132. We are also asking for a sidewalk along side the Northern Side of Highway 132.
The undersigned have witness too many accidents and deaths that were caused due to the lack of safety measures around this specific intersection. Ashley Henderson is one of many victims that tragically suffered due to this irresponsibility. With many people crossing each day, and this intersection being within 2 miles from each school in Waterford, there should be a safe way for pedestrians to cross this intersection. Many lives are at risk when crossing such a busy road.
Ashley Henderson a 16 year old girl who’s life was taken on February 12th, 2010. Her incident is a great example of how chaotic and busy this road really is. It should not take the life of an innocent for us to realize this. If you agree with installing such items please sign this petition for Ashley Henderson’s cause.
