Robert Plant launched his solo career in 1982 in the aftermath of the conclusion of Led Zeppelin. Since then, he has released ten studio albums under his own name and was a collaborator on four more. He was nominated for a Grammy awards in 2003 and 2006.
He won a Grammy award for "Album of the Year" in 2009. He has sold millions of records and performed all over the world; both in places familiar and unknown.
He has been the standard bearer of lead vocalists since the 1960s and continues to break new ground, buck trends and chart an unpredictable path through the forest of musical terrain.
He is without equal among his peers of his generation and continues to perform and compose.
We, the undersigned, do hereby request Robert Plant be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame based on his contribution to music as a solo performer; independent of his contributions of any band of which he was a member and inductee.
