Why isn't Kool & The Gang in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?
Many Artists during their induction into this coveted institution, have cited Kool & The Gang as a Major Influence!
There is no question that the world's most sampled band has been on tour non-stop since their humble beginnings as The Jazziacs in 1964
There is also no question that their iconic tune "Celebration " is the only song in Pop History that is more popular than "Happy birthday".
Whether attending a wedding, a graduation, a homecoming , a birthday or any other occasion, chances are you've danced to it while chanting "Celebrate Good Times Come on!"
So why is it that the BIGGEST SELLING group of The 80's has already been inducted into so many other Halls of Fame but not the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?
They have a street named after them in Jersey City, their home state of New Jersey, they have amassed a collection of the most prestigious music industry awards as well as a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
Therefore instead of asking "WHY", with your help, the question will be....
