Melbourne's Metro Trains has announced sweeping reductions in services to the Altona train services. Increasing time between trains to 22 minutes (confusing) and using the Altona line as a shuttle from Laverton to Newport.
This means less services, longer trip times to the CBD, no express services, and therefore less time with families for affected workers.
We the undersigned call on the Premier of Victoria, Ted Baillieu, to act on our behalf to ensure Metro Trains return to shorter train travel times to the CBD of Melbourne for the citizens of Seaholme, Altona, Westona, Werribee and Laverton, and rather than cutting services, increasing train services, and the construction of the second rail line for Altona to ammend any problems with train scheduling.
