The VA hires non-veterans to staff jobs that veterans should occupy; we seek to change this. Veterans cannot choose a different doctor if their VA doctor is lousy, this too we seek to change.
Veterans should be allowed to seek healthcare outside the VA system if that healthcare is not available to the veteran with less hassle and "pre-authorization" run-around.
There is a lack of continuity of care and too long of ait times between medical appointments. Many VA medical clinics are in old and run-down buildings, updated facilities are needed.
We, the undersigned, call on the department of Veterans Affairs to cancel all labor contracts with any and all staffing/employment agencies. We call on the VA to remove non-veteran employees and to hire veterans to fill those vacancies where possible and feasible.
We call on the VA to investigate/review all labor contracts currently in place and to explain to the nation who was responsible for them and who profited from them both directly and indirectly.
We ask for change in the VA healthcare system and access to broader and better medical treatment. We ask for updated facilities and more of a say in our own treatment.
