Hello my name is Jennifer Anderson and I live in an HOA neighborhood located in Windmill Farms in Temple, Texas. I am starting this petition because my husband works in law enforcement and at times when he comes home from work he is unable to park his patrol car in front of our home. This is due to our neighbors constantly parking their vehicles in front of our home which requires my husband having to block our driveway when he gets off work. We have asked our neighbors multiple times to move their vehicles only to be met with resistance. They continue to park their vehicles in front of our house to include blocking the sidewalk creating a safety hazard for children especially. After several attempts to try and resolve this issue amicably we have run into a couple of verbal confrontations with our neighbors. I do not want this situation to go further or possibly become violent. I feel like at this point I am out of options and I feel this petition will benefit the whole neighborhood and not just our particular situation. If you also feel this petition would be beneficial for our neighborhood I encourage you to sign the petition so that we can work towards creating a law for HOA neighborhoods to have one or two assigned parking spaces in front of their home. I hope this petition is a means to establish peace with our neighbors as well as resolving this conflict not only with ourselves but with similar situations as well.
" We, the undersigned, call on the City of Temple Texas Code Enforcement to implement parking policies for homeowners and residents living in subdivisions. We are requesting that city permits two assigned or marked spaces per residents in HOA neighborhoods (i.e. One space on each side at the end of the driveway by the curb within the property line). Also, if the homeowner is a law officer or peace officer they should be permitted to park their vehicles in front of their homes. We request citations be issued to violators who park in assigned or marked spaces.
