#City & Town Planning
Target:
Billings City Council
Region:
United States of America

In 2011, Billings City Council unanimously adopted a Complete Streets resolution to guide transportation planning for our community.

Our current City Council is in the process of re-examining the original policy.

As they do so, we would like to make sure that our mayor and councilmembers recognize just how valuable Complete Streets are to our growing community!

We, the undersigned, believe the Complete Streets policy is an important planning tool for the Billings community.

We believe Complete Streets promote the following:
1. Improve safety and predictability among all road users
2. Create an opportunity for physical activity, which in turn, reduces health care costs
3. Enable residents with mobility assistance devices, like wheelchairs, and senior to travel independently
3. Bolster economic growth through accessible and efficient connections
4. Ease transportation woes by providing more travel choices
5. Increase access to daily needs, like the grocery store for non-drivers, such as older adults
6. Help children get safely to and from school
7. Improve property values and economic revitalization
8. Promote Billings as a community that is focused on livability and quality of life.
