Clovis citizens have joined together to actively promote Clovis as a vital city that is ready to grow with new economic possibilities. Collectively, they are called Vision 2020 and their mission is to market Clovis as the site for the 6th and final horse track/casino location in New Mexico. This venue is also known as a racino. The economic benefit would be tremendous: 750 jobs during construction of an estimated $80 million dollar project; 300 off season jobs with 400 jobs during live season. An estimated $10 million dollar payroll annually after completion. 78% of the visitors would be from our West Texas neighbors. The revenue to the community will not only benefit local businesses, but will be providing state and county revenue as well. Please help support this much needed economic boom!
I support the possibility of a Racetrack and Casino in Clovis, NM. I feel it will have an positive economic benefit to our community. Additionally it will add to the quality of life for our residents with added entertainment and a committed community partner.
