Horsekillers shoul be convicted and punished

A horse owner smashed the head on his trotting horse, because it began to gallop during a race at a horse track in Manacor, Mallorca.
 
Under heavy pressure from his driver struck the horse at a time into a gallop and was disqualified. Owner missed a prize at a paltry 500.
 
After the race, which took place on 30 December, the owner was so furious that he went over to the house and knocked the horse's head into pieces with an iron bar. The animal was completely panicked and during his escape attempt he lost the balance, fell and broke his neck.
 
The six-year-old trotting horse, Sorky das Pont, had in the course of his 21 races won a total prize money of 6,000 euros and was rated as one of the most winning horses at the horse track in Manacor.
 
"We can all make mistakes". Police have since arrested - and released - the horse's owner, 38-year-old Eugenio S. Animal Protection Associations requires that the man shall be prosecuted and convicted for his unusually macabre abuse.
 
The owner has said that the horse was "misbehaving" and that made him beside himself with rage. Eugeni S. has subsequently told the newspaper El Diario de Mallorca, that he regretted what he did.
