We are worried about plans to send mums home from Honiton Hospital within a few hours of giving birth, which are due to come into force at the end of September.
Honiton's maternity service is probably the most cherished NHS service in East Devon, offering mums a chance to bond with their babies, recover from the exhaustion of birth and get face-to-face help with breast-feeding, whatever time of the day or night it is needed.
We, the undersigned, fundamentally oppose the ending of overnight stays at Honiton Hospital maternity ward and request that the in-patient after-care service is retained, with immediate effect.
