Taylor Whitehead has earned the opportunity to lead the VSU Trojan Explosion Matching and Pep Bands as the contracted director. Starting in the Fall of 2022 he was employed by Virginia State University as the "Interim" director. of Marching and Pep bands. Taylor's exemplary track record as a high school band director, assitant director at VSU and his extraordinary recruiting is exactly what the University needs.
We the undersigned call on the President, Board of Visitors and Administration of Virginia State University to hire Professor Taylor Whitehead as the full time, contracted director of the VSU Trojan Explosion Marching and Pep bands for the academic term 2023-2024. We want the word "Interim" removed from his contract. Taylor Whitehead by way of outstanding performances, growth, positive national publicity and extraordinary recruitment has earned the opportunity to continue the tradition of excellence that the University and alumni have come to expect.
