The White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) holds it's annual black-tie gala event on April 30, 2017, and it is traditionally attended by the current President and the Vice President as well as other White House insiders.
Recent featured hosts have included Larry Wilmore, Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Kimmel and other talk show personalities. And one potential host for the 2017 dinner stands out like no other: Ms. Rosie O'Donnell.
The level of respect and esteem that President Trump's administration holds for the White House press corps is mirrored perfectly in the level of respect and esteem that Mr. Trump has frequently expressed toward Ms. O'Donnell - could there be a more perfect pairing? No.
This selection is perfect for another reason: it would guarantee Mr. Trump's appearance at the event. There has been speculation that the famously thin-skinned Mr. Trump may boycott the event, but there is one thing that Mr. Trump covets more than anything: Ratings. And the selection of Rosie guarantees that the ratings for this event will be YUGE. It will be the most-viewed WHCA Dinner EVER. Probably of all time. So if the WHCA wants the President's presence, they simply must choose Rosie.

We can think of no other entertainer who is more qualified, motivated and talented enough to deliver the ratings Mr. Trump so desperately covets. And it is precisely these ratings that will guarantee Mr. Trump and his thin orange skin will voluntarily submit to the 'good-natured ribbing' that all other recent Presidents have endured whilst attending the event. The jokes will be epic, the ratings will be YUGE: win and win.
Give us Rosie, WHCA, Give us Rosie. Actual justice may currently be unavailable but poetic justice is within your reach.
