The Chesapeake Bay is suffering from one of many environmental and natural causes, Stormwater runoff. We can not prevent stormwater runoff, but we can help to reduce it. We can do this by installing rain barrels at every building or house. Installing rain barrels will provide something to capture the rain and carefully transport it to a garden of some sort and decrease the amount of water with extra nutrients that are going into the Chesapeake Bay due to stormwater runoff.
We are asking you to install a rain barrel at every house or building. Doing this will help the health of the Chesapeake Bay because when the rain runs and eventually into a drain, it picks up extra nutrients, that cloudy up the water not allowing sunlight to reach the plants and eventually killing the fish.
