A land of 28.9 acres, which has been acquired through all legal means for the purpose of an arboretum is slated for destruction because a woman with no document claims the land belongs to her. All legal means to claim rightful ownership by the management of the "Bawdie Arboretum" has proved futile. The Ghana Tourist Board, Forestry Commission, The Ghana Wildlife Society, just to mention a few are very much aware of this on going project, the project can boost of a variety of plant specie both medicinal, ornamental, spices etc and game and wildlife living in their natural habitats. The Arboretum is intended to serve as a carbon sink in the near future.
We, the undersigned, call on agencies; both governmental and private as well as individuals who have issues on helping to save the environment at heart.
Save the Bawdie Arboretum.
