Speeding and reckless driving behavior through our school zones is becoming an increasing problem.
Parents and concerned citizens would like to see actions taken to reduce the selfish behavior of reckless drivers. The problem has been reported to police, and a small effort was made to help slow the problem, but it is simply not enough.
We would like to have this issue put on the Salina City Hall Agenda, to have a responsible discussion about getting funding to place speed bumps and signs in the school zones, and also for our hard working officers to receive up-to-date radar guns.
We, the Citizens of Salina City UT, call for the City Court Council Members to place on their agenda our concerns over the speeding and reckless behavior thoughout the school zones.
We request a discussion to be held about slowing the behavior of new and inexperienced drivers, so that we may ensure as a caring community, the safety of our children both on the road and as pedestrians.
