To amend sections 2925.11, 2929.13, 2929.141, 2929.15, 2929.25, and 2967.28 of the Revised Code to provide an immunity from arrest, prosecution, or conviction, or to permit a court to consider drug treatment or as a mitigating factor in supervised release sanctioning, for a minor drug possession offense for a person who seeks or obtains medical assistance for self or another person who is experiencing a medical emergency as a result of ingesting drugs or for a person who is experiencing such a medical emergency and for whom medical assistance is sought.

We, the undersigned, support HB 249 which allows immunity from conviction of minor drug offenses when medical assistance is requested for self or others for a drug overdose.

We also request the name of this proposed law be Aaron's Law to honor the life of a young man who passed too soon from an unintentional drug overdose.
