Eden Park please be aware that the department of Social Development has decided to remove our Local EDEN PARK POST OFFICE to Thokoza by end of January 2018. This move comes as a result of the agreement between Social Development and the Post Office to settle grant payments through that structure. We have launched an official complaint as one of the local community based organizations "EPCAU" with various departments after we received information of this blunt move to strip the community of yet another social entity. We cannot be shortcircuited for another round by this unethical behaviour of State institutions to undermine our rights to fair practices. This is a total breach of our human rights and rights as a cultural people. We will need critical intervention from the community at large in support of the vulnerable (children, aged and disabled) who will have to take long distance walks or undertake paid trips ( to boosting another areas economy) to access a grant. Let us rise at least this one time as a people because with this service could come other imported services from the POST OFFICE. Employment opportunities for our locals could be one of them. LET THOKOZA PROCEED WITH THEIR POST OFFICE AND NOT TOUCH OURS.

We the undersigned organization "The Eden Park Community Action Unit", call on the Department of Social development as well as the Department of Rural Development and Land reform. Seeking your immediate intervention on behalf of the Eden Park community regarding the removal of one our oldest community service public services. The post office are used by the entire community of Eden Park as well as the surrounding areas but is mainly supported by the vulnerable (children, aged and disabled ) . Thokoza already has a few post offices whilst we only have one that services Eden park and its surrounding areas. We will also have to travel long distance, walks or undertake paid trips (boosting another areas economy) to access a grant. Look into means of alleviating poverty instead of increasing poverty.
