Halt the cruel and unjust Universal Credit system

Halt the inhumane Universal Credit System coming to major cities. This unfair new welfare system will cause the poorest and most vulnerable to suffer extreme hardship and stress.
The day you apply, your existing benefits will be automatically stopped while they reassess you. You may be waiting months before you receive anything.
Working Tax Credits are no longer available for people who for health reasons can only work 16 hours a week. Nothing has been put in it's place except to work full time. This is not possible for many people with physical or mental health issues,who are willing to work, but simply cannot work full time.
The Work Capability Assessments are designed to rule out your medical condition. A computerised point system does not allow your condition to be taken seriously and government targets are in place to decline 80% of applicants.
The only other benefit available for those who cannot work full time is PIP or DLA, which is impossible to get unless you are severely disabled or have serious mental health problems.
The government has pledged to help and support those with mental health issues- this will cause untold anxiety and stress to those already suffering.
There will be a large scale mental health crisis when this system reaches our major cities in the next year.
