Being a long term avid Halo fan, as well as having played the rest of 343 Industries Halo games, I was ecstatic to hear of the upcoming release of Halo 2 Anniversary.. My heart sank however when I heard it was being developed (primarily it would seem) for the Xbox One.

I like many others do not own an Xbox One, partly due to financial reasons and am still enjoying the use of my Xbox 360 and the enormous back catalogue of games it has (343 Games included). I have no plans or desires to purchase an Xbox One as I feel it does not represent enough of a leap forward in technology to justify the steep price tag, nor does it (and this is more important) support play of previous Xbox 360 titles which I have accumulated and enjoyed massively over the years.

I like many other gamers out there, cannot afford to buy a brand new console outright and would have traditionally traded in an old console to fund the buying of the new one. However I simply refuse to trade in all of these games and experiences I know and love in order to fund the purchase of a new console when I will never be able to play any of my previous gen games.

I feel my thoughts represent a huge portion of the gaming community out there who will also forgo the purchase of an Xbox One. The sad part of this is I like many others would relish the opportunity to play the anniversary release of Halo 2, but will not be able to due to the lack of a 360 release.

I feel the install base for 360 players out there is far, far in excess of XB1 owners and as such represents a significantly larger customer base as a result.
I understand the need for technology to move forward and progress but I think for the type of release this is and given the amazing results of the original Halo: Anniversary release on 360, Halo 2: Anniversary would find much greater commercial and fan success as a 360 release.

Also I think the scalability of games these days is extremely broad and for this release it would be very feasible to release on both 360 and XB1, capitalising on the install bases of BOTH of those consoles. Many games have done this in the past and have, as a result, managed to capitalise on both owners of new consoles and previous gen alike, catering to all.

I believe there are many, many other gamers out there whose opinions resonate with my own on this topic and who would happily pay full price for this release on the console that they own.

So please 343, give us Halo!!!!

We the undersigned, request for 343 Industries to develop or otherwise make available the upcoming release of Halo 2: Anniversary for the Microsoft Xbox 360.

The amount of Xbox 360 owners out there who will not be able to play Halo 2: Anniversary as a result of not owning an Xbox One is enormous, which means an extremely large portion of players who enjoyed the previous generation of games (original Halo:Anniversary & Halo 4 included) will be forced to make a decision which will likely result in them not being able to play this release.

If 343 were to release a version of this game for the Xbox 360, they would certainly find a huge install base of fans willing to buy, play and enjoy this piece of Halo history.

So if you are one of these players who still feels there's plenty of life in the previous generation of consoles, don't want to wave goodbye to your massive library of games & would relish the opportunity to play this fantastic revision of a classic game then please sign up!
