Gravity Falls Season 1 Blu-Ray release!

On 8/15/13, Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch explained to thousands of eager, diehard fans on the famed website, Reddit, that his request for a complete, HD-rendered Blu-Ray version of the first season of his series had been denied.

According to his claims, the marketing division of Disney Television deemed that the item was "too pricey and risky" to consider, instead oping to go for a cheaper, incomplete, and sub-par DVD version containing no special features as well as only 6 episodes (out of the original 20).

Mr. Hirsch was told that future releases would be considered based upon the sales and demands of this shoddy attempt to make a quick buck...

How can one say that there's no audience for a complete release, considering Gravity Falls is currently rated the #1 watched animated program as based upon NTI. U.S. ratings? If anything, fans are desperate for more GF merchandising/product. After all, it has been a somewhat quiet, and at times, discouraging year since Season 1 began in August, 2012.

As for the Blu-Ray concerns, GF rivals, Adventure Time and Regular Show have indeed shown that there is definitely a demand (especially among adult-aged fans) for complete BR based sets as their collections are constantly upon the best sellers lists on such retailer sites like Amazon.com (as of this writing). Since Gravity Falls has a larger audience, surely it has a better chance of greater success, does it not?

Even more so, such a release could enable a new audience for GF, especially to those without means of cable/satellite/internet, and wish to obtain the series by legal means...
