Does anyone remember watching WCW: Monday NITRO on TNT and WCW: Thunder on TBS back in the 90s? I do because I was a little child in the 90s and I always use to watch WCW: Monday NITRO and WCW: Thunder with my parents and my older sister from 1995-1999 before switching to the WWF: Attitude Era in April 1999. WCW was awesome and out of this world back in the 90s for 3 years from 1995-1998.
WCW (World Championship Wrestling) had awesome Luchadores and Lucha Libre, awesome cruiserweight wrestlers, big powerhouse wrestlers, excellent technical wrestlers, strong style Japanese wrestlers, cool tag teams, special matches, cool promos, awesome commentary, fabulous women wrestlers, great ring announcers, super loud and bright pyro fireworks on the NITRO and Thunder stages during the wrestlers entrances and during pay per view entrances, big red and pink fire on the stages, extremely loud and fired up fans in the audience, hot and sexy NITRO girls dancing in the ring during the beginning of NITRO, The NWO (Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash), Goldberg, Sting, Lex Luger, DDP and many more!
WCW was the hottest and greatest wrestling promotion on the planet from 1995-1998 and it had the greatest booking, management and storylines in the 90s. Monday NITRO from 1995-1998 had the most watched hours and gotta see moments in wrestling history with the most shocking and surprising events. And Thunder from 1998-mid 1999 also had the most watched hours and gotta see moments too and it had awesome dark royal blue lights and a royal blue superstation Thunder stage. WCW was the number one promotion to watch with the greatest talent and championship wrestling of all time before the attitude era got to the top and took over the wrestling world!
But as time went on, WCW later starting making big mistakes and starting losing money by 1999. And their ratings were getting pretty bad by 1999. It was simply because of the executive vice president and general manager Eric Bischoff not pushing the younger cruiserweight talent stars to the top of the card, the NWO storyline going on to long and it got old and stale after 3 years by 1999, having the same wrestlers wrestling each other, Ted Turner not putting anymore big money into WCW anymore which is why he was forced out of ownership of TNT and TBS, the storyline writing got stale later on, they were losing more money in 2000 and 2001; and because of poor management. And because WCW was losing so much money and was so damaged and far gone; and it was making the new owners of TNT and TBS AOL Time Warner lose a lot of money every month, they and Jamie Kellner decided it that it wasn't worth having WCW on TNT and TBS anymore and that they didn't want to continue losing more money and have TNT and TBS go out of business by losing even more money because WCW was damaged so badly, it couldn't be repaired. So they cancelled Monday NITRO and Thunder from TBS and TNT and sold WCW to Vince McMahon and the WWE for 4 million dollars.
Now I can understand why they took WCW off of TNT and TBS in 2001 because it was bleeding them dry of their money, that's understandable. But I also feel like they didn't give WCW a chance to turn around and get fixed and get back up to the top again. And that they didn't give WCW a chance to get new billion dollar ownership and get back up to the top on TNT and TBS either. Because with a new billionaire running WCW and with some repairs and fixes; and with new storyline writers, WCW could have turned around and gotten good again and got back up to the top again. But instead, Jamie Kellner and Time Warner just completely kicked WCW off of TNT and TBS permanently. And I feel like they owe WCW another chance on TNT and TBS again because despite their mistakes, WCW was their number one greatest and biggest show from 1995-1998 and they were making huge money then and they were kicking WWF's asses in the ratings; and TNT was beating USA Network in the ratings too. I know Time Warner are considering getting wrestling back on TBS and TNT again someday and we might get to see New Japan Pro Wrestling on TNT someday and Ring Of Honor Wrestling on TBS someday because there are new executives and people in time warner now. So maybe they'll offer to give WCW another chance on TNT and TBS on Monday nights and Thursday nights again because I'm sure by now they miss having WCW from 1995-1998 on their networks and making all of that huge money and getting high ratings every week!
And with the right storyline writers, management, general managers for NITRO and Thunder, commentators, ring announcers, a brand new huge talented roster, a new huge fan base and the right billionaire who knows how to book and run wrestling perfectly, WCW could return on TBS and TNT again be as good and as big as it was from 1995-1998 and give WWE huge bloodbath competition again and possibly even beat WWE and buyout WWE this time since WWE is now more dead and far gone in 2017 than WCW was in 2000 and 2001. And once Vince McMahon passes away, a rich billionaire who knows everything about championship wrestling could buy WCW from Stephanie McMahon and Triple H and start WCW up again since Stephanie and Triple H aren't like Vince at all!
So if you'd like time warner to give WCW one more chance on TNT and TBS again, please sign this petition to help get WCW: Monday NITRO back on TNT weekly again and WCW: Thunder back on TBS weekly again! But if WCW does re-air on TNT and TBS again, please use the old TNT logo from 2001-2014 or the old TNT logo from 1995-2000 or the TNT logo from 1992 on the screen on Monday NITRO just for NITRO every week. And please use the old TBS logo from 1993-2003 or the TBS logo from 2003-2014 on Thunder every week just for Thunder every week and only use the superstation Thunder stage every week. Because the old TNT logo and the old TBS logo look more believable and better than the news ones do.
