The School Board's job is to work to improve the schools, as students attending public schools we should be allowed to have a say in who represents us. We are allowed to work and add to our community so we should have the rights to vote for who works for us in an environment we have to be in on a daily basis, 180 days out of the year. Students should have a say on who works for them we should be able to vote for who has our best interests in mind.

Role of the School Board
-The role of the school board is to ensure that school districts are responsive to the values, beliefs and priorities of their communities. Boards fulfill this role by performing five major responsibilities: Setting direction, Establishing an effective and efficient structure, Providing support, Ensuring accountability, Providing community leadership as advocates for children, the school district and public schools.

Why are School Board elections important?
-Because school boards make education decisions on behalf of their communities, it is incredibly important for voters to research and question school board candidates, participate in school board elections.

What does the School Board do?
-What is a school board's most important responsibility? The most important responsibility of school boards is to work with their communities to improve student achievement in their local public schools. School boards derive their power and authority from the state.
