On 25 May 2017, Mr Eduane Danilo Lemos dos Santos bought, at AmfAr auction in Mont Carlo, a watch for 500.000 Euros! The 23 years old, is a student, jobless and he is also the Angolan president son, Jose Eduardo dos Santos who has been in power since 1979 - a corrupt man!

"He looks way too young to have 500,000 euros" Will Smith equipped as Angola president's son grabbed the watch at auction. Mr Smith as we all know is one of the best and richest American actors who like many I admire greatly. I do not believe he was aware that, at the time the Angolan president son was grabbing the watch there were thousand of kids in Angola who went to bed without having dinner! He might not have guessed that miles away from Monte Carlo, the Popular Televisao de Angola (TPA), surprisingly the Government mouthpiece, was running a story about the precarious and inhuman conditions at hospitals in the country for lack of money (dollars/euros) and corruption.

Angola's oil wealth has been syphoned off year after year, leaving little in the state budget for the necessities of life for the vast majority of the population. This situation is well known to many. Yet the Angola president son was paying a watch for 500,000 euros for a good cause, of course! But what about those kids dying in Angola for lack of medicine and/or inadequate treatment? What about Angolan hospitals without enough beds for patients? How can we, in the twenty-first century, find a moral explanation to justify AmfAR selfishness, shameless, unethical and immoral standing? Some well-known people, countries like Portugal and Organisations in the West are consciously or "unconsciously" contributing to the suffering of Angolan people.

AmfAR must give back those 500,000 euros to Angola in form of medicine and/or medical equipment to Angolan people. Will Smith must read more on Angola to learn about the devastating effect of corruption on people's life in the country. He equally needs to examine his conscience and reconcile himself with the fact that he once shared the same stage with those who are swindling Angola of billion of dollars while thousand of little kids die in hospitals

As you read these lines, people of all ages in Angola are dying unnecessarily for lack of the most basic medicine and medical equipment, simply because Organisations like AmfAR often refuse to exercise ethics principles when confronted with a big paycheck!

Enough is enough. You and I must act now...

We, the undersigned, call on AmfAR to give back the 500,000 euros Mr Eduane Danilo Lemos dos Santos paid for the watch to angolan people.
