This all started with my friend Leann. Leann is one of the sweetest people I've ever met, and she never does anything for herself. She didn't have a big elaborate sweet 16, or 18th birthday, or go to homecoming. THIS IS HER CHANCE TO SHINE AND SHE DESERVES IT.
Those of you that know Leann, know that like most of us, her family is going through hard economic times. Not only did she get her prom dress from the Kemosabe closet, but family and friends were planning on doing her hair and makeup. She owed $700 in obligations and got it waived because obviously that's RIDICULOUS for a student to owe. After all of the headache and aggravation, they tell her that because she has a 1.96 GPA, she cannot go to prom because at least a 2.0 is required.
We, the students and community, ARE OUTRAGED AT YOUR RIDICULOUS PROM QUALIFICATIONS.
These are hard times and EVERYONE deserves to have their prom!
