Gadsby-Boes Kids

Every day hundreds of children are kidnapped by family members. Family abductions are on the rise and although there exists some legislation in place to handle these type things, it is sorely lacking in areas.

One of these areas is the collaboration of individual states with regard to court ordered custody. You see, a family member can kidnap a child and take them to another state, and there isn't a database for these children to be tracked by. The other state has no idea what kind of court ordered custody is in place elsewhere.

Carolee Gadsby has written a bill asking for just such a database. It is called the Gadsby-Boes National Child Custody Database. As a foster mother, Carolee has experienced first hand the kidnapping of her foster daughters. They were taken by their abusive biological parents.

The bill was proposed because of this experience in her life and written to protect all children from family abductions. It is the children who suffer when these kidnappings happen.
