G-North Residents Complaint to City Mayor on bad road conditions

Gaborone North residents have for the last five (5) years raised concern over the four (4) main access routes into the residential area. The roads are not tarmacked and have been maintained by the council by occasional grading. However, the grading of the access routes has proved to be ineffective, especially during rainy periods. An attempt was recently made to improve the access routes by laying gravel and compacting. However, the four (4) million pula worth project only made the situation worse, as the route created a flood plain, which left the routes in much worse condition than it was before.
The situation is so bad now with residents getting breakdowns due to road conditions. There are times when the routes can not be used by small vehicles.
