Students are not eating lunch in school. By not providing healthy options this is leading to obesity, low grades, and wasted money. Poor food has negatively affected the health of the Bronx as a community.
Providing more nutrition education as well as healthier and more appetizing school lunch options we can improve the health and productivity of the entire community.
We, the undersigned, call upon the Education Committee of the Bronx Community Council to publicly support school lunch reform for providing more healthy options, and to influence the City Council to pass Bill:int. 0113-2014 to establish a food program and to budget sufficient funds for providing the healthy and appetizing lunch options that students need.
