Our CUSD 200 Administration and School Board are jeopardizing the hallmark of our education system in Wheaton, an"...exemplary, student focused school district..." by attempting to meet the budget shortfall by removing direct student focused services including Librarians, library aides, reading aides, enhancement aides and counselors, increasing class size and cutting the day short for our high school students.
The School Board has been acting as business as usual, while the residents of District 200 are tightening our belts. Tax payers and our children's education should not be asked to cover these excesses again. The CUSD 200 administration, teachers and School Board need to cover the shortfall in the budget (see cusd200.org for administrative salaries).
We the people of District 200 say: Freeze Teacher salaries and cut Administrative salaries/benefits to cover our 8.7 M deficit.
