Since 2006, the media website known as Imeem has been a focal point for music and music enthusiasts. It was a site built around ease of use, offering sleek custom user profiles, a simple upload process, concise playlist referencing, networking capabilities, and an altogether fun browsing and listening experience.

On Tuesday, 8 December 2009, the social networking website Myspace finalized its acquisition of Imeem, and has been efficient in removing the website from the internet. Longtime users, with literally thousands of friends and uploads, and hundreds of playlists, have now been forcibly rerouted to Myspace Music - that is, if they will be transfered at all. Their uploads, playlists, favorites, friends, profile layouts, groups, and general music-browsing standards have been tossed out the window. This follows Myspace’s claim that “aspects of” Imeem would be moved to Myspace Music. Disheartening semantics such as “working to offer” and “attempt to transition” offer little hope to the loyal users of Imeem. It has left many, many of those users irate, and most, if not all, of those members simply want their beloved website back.

In light of this event, we, the undersigned, call upon Myspace to reinstate the Imeem website - including, but not limited to, all data, friends, profiles, uploads, and playlists - in it's entirety.
