Rally racing has a worldwide following and as the Bajan's have shown, has become very popular in Barbados and their annual Rally draws competitors from around the world and brings in much needed foreign earnings.
The time is ripe for the formation of a local Rally racing club seeing that the interest in Drag racing is at an all time high.
The combination of these two types of vehicle racing, would make St. Lucia one of the leaders in motor sports within the English speaking Caribbean.
We the undersigned, call on the Government and relevant authorities to assist in the development of Rally Racing in St. Lucia.
This would include the recognition of a Rally racing association, allowing races to be held on public roads and the importation of parts and vehicles free of duty for the explicit purpose of Rally racing.
