Fix the Road, The Speeding, The Noise, and the Traffic on W. Elm St!

If I was to tell you there is a road in Conshohocken that is in such disrepair that it causes large trucks to sound like thunder at 3am, would you believe me? If you are a resident of Ward 1 in Conshohocken or District 1 in Plymouth, you already know.

W. Elm St has become the throughway for large trucks to work their way up
Conshohocken State Road to dump their loads at the local landfill. Unfortunately, W. Elm st was not built to sustain the weight of these massive movers, causing tar peaks and valleys that resemble more of a washboard than a road. Said trucks drive over this hazard all hours of the day, rolling over the bumps they themselves created, and wake up our residents and our children.

Keep in mind, what comes up, comes back down - and these trucks clog our one lane highway back to Fayette St. and help to cause massive delays at an intersection already graded an F by local transit authorities (W. Elm & Fayette). The speed cars and trucks travel on this road is also a major issue, as visibility around the bend at Corson st. is an accident waiting to happen (and it has).

This issue has been brought to two separate community Councils and they claim to have no power to fix or even address the problem, as it is a state road maintained and operated by PennDot. Please sign the petition to let PennDot know they should be working with our local governments to fix this major problem.
