The East Road and Wanneroo Road Intersection have been causing pain and grief to residents for many years dating back to early requests by Former Councillor Glynis Monks in 2004.
The recent upgrade of the Ocean Reef Rd Overpass has created a continuous traffic flow making it difficult to turn right onto Wanneroo Road.
Currently, Wanneroo Road is under the Main Roads department whilst East Road is under the City of Wanneroo control.
Following my motion on notice back in May 2022, the City received correspondence from Premier McGowan MLA outlining that Main Roads nominate this intersection for Black Spot Funding.
I believe this is important to bring this forward and get this dangerous intersection fixed urgently and ask residents, ratepayers and other affected users to sign this petition to request the local member and Minister take urgent action.
We, the undersigned, call the Local Member Margaret Quirk and Minister Saffioti to take immediate action and bring forward black spot funding and the upgrade for the East Road and Wanneroo Road Intersection as a priority.
