The Center for Fraud Prevention is a national organization dedicated to reducing fraud in youth sports association. Theft and embezzlement is an important topic facing youth sports associations. Crime of this nature is growing at an alarming rate. Youth sports associations of all sizes all across the country have been the victims of fraud. Most youth sports leagues lack the financial oversight necessary to provide adequate protection from fraud and embezzlement.
The typical youth sports association operates at a local level. It is organized as a non-profit entity and run by an all-volunteer staff. The board of directors is small group and is usually comprised of friends and neighbors. There is little financial oversight and few checks and balances.
The Center for Fraud Prevention provides youth sports association the financial discipline to fight fraud.
We, the undersigned, call on the Haddon Township Athletic Association to authorize The Center for Fraud Prevention to conduct a financial review.
The purpose of this review is to determine if HTAA has adequate internal controls to prevent fraud.
