The Winagami Lake Provincial Park has significantly cut back the operating hours of the wading pool. Prior to 2010, the wading pool was open available for use between the hours of 11:00 AM and 9:00 PM daily, after completing maintenance to the pool in 2010, the hours were reduced as follows: 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM from Thursday until Saturday.
It can be assumed that this was done in order to minimize costs within the park, however, it should be noted that the park does not provide a lifeguard or any supervision of the pool. It is the hopes that individuals who utilize the park share the sentiments that the wading pool hours should be restored to the hours it was open in previous years.
This would provide maximum enjoyment for those utilizing the park, particularly for those who frequent the park for the days which do not fall between Thursday and Saturday.
We, the undersigned, call on the Winagami Lake Provincial Park (Government of Alberta) to restore the hours of the wading pool, to that of which they have been in the past (11:00AM to 9:00PM).
