Explorers Way, Worongary Residents Fed up with Hoons

The residents of Explores Way and the wider Worongary area are extremely fed up with the dangerous driving taking place on our residential streets. Drivers frequently doing burnouts and driving above the signed 50km/h limit that was changed from 60km/h to 50km/h back in 2016. This change has not stop the speeding or the hooning. It is only a matter of time before a car looses control & crashes into one of our houses. I have lived on Explorers Way for 20yrs & have had cars crash into my fence.

Explores Way has been used as a personal burnout track with black marks from the cars tyres that litter the road on both sides most of the way up the street. Reckless drivers do it during the day, Night & its even worse when the road is wet from rain.

There has been multiple cars crash over the years. One car on Explores in mid 2017 crashed into a brick /concrete wall with in meters of the home owners cars & the car was able to fee the accidents. We have young children who live in the street & 2 schools on Explores Way. All residents live in fear that loved ones will be hurt by an out of control car.

Every time I hear sketching car tyres, I just wait for the sound of the car to hit something. On the 28th November at around 7.30pm a car was driving recklessly & crashed into the “Graham Dillon (Oam) Park" crn Hinkler Dr. Before police arrived at the scene, the car was able to free itself and fled causing damage to public infrastructure and putting members of our community at risk.
