For instance, rapid increases in transportation fares due to fuel price adjustments often lead to a ripple effect, with traders and service providers raising their prices arbitrarily. This cascading impact creates undue strain on the population, leading to decreased consumer confidence and stagnation in economic activity.
In the absence of a dedicated agency to regulate prices and enforce compliance, private businesses, market traders, and even transport operators have capitalized on gaps in the system to impose arbitrary price hikes. These practices exacerbate the already significant economic inequality in the country, with the average Ghanaian struggling to afford basic needs.

The establishment of a Price Control Agency (PCA) and its associated National Price Stability Task Force (NPSTF) will provide a long-overdue solution to this issue.
